NCCU Student Printing Project - Phase 1

Projects/Professional Presentations

This page is dedicated to the recent projects and professional presentations I've led/played a significant role.

PROJECTS

The NCCU ITS Department was charged with taking over student printing on our campus.  As the led for this project I launched Phase 1 of this project in August 2014.  This phase included placing 4 printers with print release stations in our Campus MegaLab and 4 temporary kiosks in strategic places throughout our campus. During this phase we are monitoring student printing to assist in implementing printing quotas which started Summer 2015.

As lead on this project, I implemented the departments only revenue generating service.  Worked with the team to setup the financial and physical operations give the ability to offer software at a deeply discounted rate. To date (Feb 2015) this project has generated $15K to assist in operational costs. Visit the link below for more information visit: http://bit.ly/1Cb8S8g

NCCU Student Printing Project - Phase 2
IT/Library Renovation for Frontline Services

I am the IT Lead on the project to upgrade our Shepard Library to incorporate technology functions. This million dollar project places the frontline of IT support (the areas I lead) in our campus library. The newly renovated collaborative IT and Library Renovation opened January 2016.

I am currently leading Phase 2 of the NCCU Student Printing project. This phase includes placing additional print stations in the library, replacing the temporary print stations and adding an outsourced Print Management Solution. This phase is two-fold because the print stations were put in place mid-March 2015 and the print quotas began January 2016.

Professional Presentations

ULEAD Presentations

As a graduate of the 2014 University Leadership Education and Development (ULEAD) class, our team had to research and present on a topic.  The topic we chose was "Transforming Staff-Faculty Relationships: Closing the Great Divide."  The context of this topic was "Working relationships between staff and faculty are a pillar on which the success of every university depends, but often these crucial, interdependent relationships are poorly understood. Faculty are frequently not trained in management, and staff often encounter challenges in communicating and collaborating with faculty. " From this context we chose 2 major questions to answer:

  1. How can we promote better understanding between faculty and staff in our universities?

  2. What are effective ways to engage both staff and faculty in working collaboratively?

Since our December graduation and class presentation, our team of 6 has had the priveledge to present our research, findings and recommendations to the following bodies:

  • UNC Employee Forum - January 7, 2015

  • The NCCU Chancellor's Executive Leadership Team - January 22, 2015

  • The UNC Staff Assembly - February 23, 2015
